Hello debaters! It’s getting closer to Opening Day of 1st Hasanuddin BP 2011, I hereby announce PREPARED MOTIONS for this tournament

  1. [SPORT] THBT FIFA should allow woman soccer player to wear hijab (veil, kerudung)
  2. [DEVELOPMENTAL AID] THW make the raising of business and labor standards a prerequisite for development aid
  3. [ECONOMICS] THW impose progressive tax
  4. [DICTATORSHIP] THW offer impunity to dictator who voluntarily step-down

We have 8 rounds in total (5 Prelims, Quarters, Semis, Final), so other four rounds will be employ Impromptu motions.

The 1st Hasanuddin BP Pre-Event and Schedule

PRE-HASANUDDIN BP Event (Comprehensive BP Seminar and Simulation Round)

We are really acknowledge that BP style tournament in Eastern Indonesia is still lack of exposure, and there are still asymmetric understanding between debaters and adjudicators regarding how to debate and adjudicate BP debate, hence, we as organizer initiate to held Comprehensive Seminar both for debater and adjudicator, the materials that will be presented are taken from latest Worlds Universities Debating Championship Guidelines and some of materials from previous notable tournament. Beside that, there will be simulation for accreditation test and precisely give initial training for adjudicator before taking adjudication test at d-day and this is one of organizing committee commitment to enhance quality of adjudication.

 

On the following day, we will have Simulation Round, which comprises by 2 rounds and Grandfinal, we will awarding all grandfinalist of this simulation with certificate. Team cap for this simulation round is12 Teams, and you can directly confirm your participation to Akbar (081342987870)

 

And, great news, there will be no registration fee to attend this event, as the consequences, we will not provide any meals and snack, but committee will sell them on the spot during the event.

 

This PRE-HASANUDDIN BP event will be held on 19-20 June 2011 at Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Politik Universitas Hasanuddin

Call For BIND 2011 Intecomp

Hey guys!

We got words about another debate tourney at Binus international. BIND (the third BINUS INTERNATIONAL Debating Championship 2011).

 

The 3rd Binus International Debating Championship

Dates : September 13-16, 2011

Venue : BINUS INTERNATIONAL University. Jakarta, Indonesia

Format : British Parliamentary

Adj Rule : N1

Tournament Cap : 80 teams

Institutional Cap : 2 teams (3rd team onwards will be entered in the waiting list)

Registration Fee: USD55 or IDR 450.000,00- per person*

 

HEDS will be willing to make an intercomp. as long as we see enthusiasm (BIG one) to attend this.
